Hi Joe,
thanks for your reply. I've tried with the WiDi Update Tool - all it does is display a generic error message saying it cannot install the update.
The System Identification Utility simply does not install itself (either through the web installer on IE 11 and through the msi download in the troubleshooting page). This is the error I get: "The Intel Driver Update Utility installation failed. Possible web browser compatibility, firewall, or installation issue detected. Select OK to troubleshoot the issue." and "Intel System Identification Utility encountered a problem retrieving user data please re-run SIU"
Funny enough, I can install the Driver Update Utility from here:Intel® Driver Update Utility (which seems to be using the same type of web installer as the System Identification Utility). This is what I get from it:

I do not have any 3rd party firewalls installed and I did disable the Windows 7 firewall - no luck seeing the adapter in version 3.0.13.0.
The Netgear PTV 3000 works great with a Nexus 4, so the adapter itself is not the issue here.
Are there any logs I could collect during the WiDi software installation that would help?
Thanks,
Cristi
