I've been following this thread for a while, hoping a fix would be released already... I have a brand new laptop, HDMI port to my external monitor doesn't work. When I reinstall the Intel driver, it works, until I restart or remove the cable and reinsert. Though maybe it was a hardware issue after all, sent the computer in to the manufacturer, they replaced the whole motherboard, did not help.

What happens that results in the blackscreen failure? After installing/reinstalling Intel driver, HDMI outputs perfectly to my monitor (AOC F22). If I sleep, restart, or remove the cable and reinsert, the computer no longer recognizes that there is anything attached to the HDMI port (does not appear on any of the menus - Screen resolution, Nvidia control panel, Intel graphics control panel, etc.) and does not output any picture. VGA output works fine always. This monitor and cable work perfectly fine with any other computers. I have tried all the new drivers, as well as older ones, tried going back to Windows 8 and Windows 7 (Windows 7 also had other compatibility issues on this computer). Sent the computer in to the manufacturer, they replaced the motherboard and I received it today, still no change. NOTE: it is possible that the HDMI works with other monitors/cables, I have not yet spoken to the manufacturer why they sent the computer back when it still doesn't work, maybe it worked on their monitor?
